Design:

SpeedZone offers two colors options on the SpeedZone clubhead in a pre-set 9 and 10.5 degree loft.

We reviewed the black with yellow color accents, and a glossy polished finish

Dark with White Color Accents. Matte Finish

The 10.5 preset loft club was tested. You have 8 options for club launch: 10.5 standard, 10.5 standard, 11.5 Standard, 11.5 Standard, 11.5 Draw, 12.0 standard, 11.5 Standard, 11.5 Draw, 12.0 normal, 9.0standard, 9.5standard and 9.5 draw. I tried many settings but the one that worked best was the 10.5 standard. This is a great feature that allows you to adjust your setting quickly and easily on the course.

SpeedZone, like other Cobra King drivers has two adjustable weights. This allows the player to choose their launch angle. Although the club comes pre-set with a 14g weight for forward and a 2g for back settings, these can easily be swapped. While I did notice an improvement in the launch angle by shifting the 14g weight to back, I preferred the preset weighting due to its lower launch angle. I would have liked to see the club offer additional weights that could be swapped on to the club. The weights of the SpeedZone 2020 driver are not compatible with the Cobra King Speedback’s 2019 driver. Cobra King will sell any extra weights at $25 each. From a technical perspective, many features are designed to give the ball more club head speed. One of my favorites features is the milled-infinity club face, which wraps around all the club’s face. It is designed to improve the milled face area by 95%, and create a greater sweet spot. This protects the club against miss-hits below or above the ball.

The club also offers a variety of stock shaft options from Extra Stiff to Lite made by four manufacturers. The club offers many shaft options, allowing golfers to select the best flex and weight.

Arnold Palmer said it best: “Golf is an inch game.” It is the six inches between your ears that are most crucial. So, it’s important to evaluate any club you choose. Cobra King SpeedZone has confidence in its weight, design, and feel. The club’s overall look is fantastic. The King Cobra logo placed above my cheekbones gives me extra confidence every time I walk up to the ball or set the club back behind the tee.

“First Impressions Review” – Cobra Golf King Speedzone Driver

One of my favorite drivers was the COBRA Golf King Speedzone. I look forward to playing in 2020 with it. One of the drivers I initially saw was at a Kitchener, Ontario trade show. At the time, I salivated in anticipation of what might be, based on the cosmetics of this driver. I was skeptical if it would live up to my expectations.

This was a question I answered at the 2020 PGA Show, Orlando, Florida. This is my COBRA Golf SPEEDZONE driver review based upon the initial impressions it provided me at Demo Day, Orange County National Golf Resort.

There are two models available in the Set-Up COBRA golf KING SPEDZONE drivers. These will be of interest to those looking for new drivers in 2020. COBRA Golf is offering both a “standard” KING SPEEDZONE and a KING SPEEDZONE XTREME. The chassis of both drivers is the same, but they do have some different features. Before looking at their differences, let’s see what the two models have in common.

COBRA Golf touts that the new line of KING SPEEDZONE drivers are their longest, most powerful drivers that they’ve created to date. They take their inspiration from motorsports to look quick even when they are still. By looking inside the tailing edge, you can spot some of this inspiration. CNC-machined faces feature the KINGSZ driver, which we first noticed in 2018. It is similar to that of the KING F8. The face of the KING SZ drivers has an interesting twist. Or should I say, an infinity symbol that signifies “no limits” and “endless”.

Infinity Face’ is one of several technologies found in the KING SZ. Infinity Face is a technology that allows you to see the entire face. the face sees an expanded sweet zone and more ball speed across the entire surface area of the face.

Introduced this year is the “T-Bar Chassis.” T-Bar Chassis consists of a section from the interior portion that runs along the leading edge to the trailing side. In adapting this cross-member COBRA Golf R&D were able to create a stronger frame and in doing so improved the feel and durability of the KING SZ driver.

Do you like the look of carbon fiber? If you like the look of carbon fiber, KINGSZ drivers might be just right for you. The KING SZ comes with a 360 Carbon Wrap. The 360 Carbon Wrap covers a whopping 50% of the body. COBRA Golf moved a remarkable 25-grams discretionary weight through the use of carbon fiber. This luxury is rare in golf club design. Engineers could create a driver full of forgiveness by shifting weight to other parts of the KING SZ Drivers.
