A lot of grocery and retail shops offer many perks to their employees such as employee discounts, holiday pay, healthcare benefits and gym memberships.
Safeway’s employee discount gives all staff 10% off on store brands, and 5% off on other brands as of 2022. In order to qualify for an employee discount, Safeway staff members must be past their probation period, and must hold an AirMiles card to be swiped at the cash checkout.
What does a Safeway employee need in order to redeem their discount?
Safeway employees have to acquire two key things before they are eligible for their employee discount.
All staff must successfully complete the probation period in order to be eligible for any discount. Safeway staff members have three months probation.
Safeway employees will also have to obtain an Air Miles certificate after their probation.
When staff want to redeem their discount, they can swipe the card at the check-out.
Safeway staff without an Air Miles cards cannot receive their employees discount.
Safeway employees have to register their Air Miles Card number through Employee Self Service on the Albertsons/Sobeys Employee Portal.
Can Safeway Employees Share Their Discount?
Safeway employees are allowed to share their discount with any family member who lives in their household.
Employees and family members can both redeem the discount, provided that their Air Miles cards are registered on the Sobeys portal.
Safeway employees may use their discounted in all departments.
Employees of Safeway can take advantage of their discount on all in-store products and every department.
Certain products cannot be discounted. The following items are not eligible for a discount:
Not all items are available at discounted prices. This includes third-party vendor items.
