What does the G400 Max driver compare to other recent Ping offerings like The G400 and The Ping G.

The first is that your handicap will determine how consistent and high-quality your swing.

Golfers with difficulty finding the center line of the fairway or face are unlikely to be satisfied by the G400 Max.

Every time Ping releases a new model, it’s just slightly better than the one before.

What is the G400 Max Driver’s Performance Compared to Other Drivers on The Market?

It is sure to be the Callaway Epic’s or Callaway Rogue’s top-selling product.

TaylorMade’s M2 Driver and, in particular, the M4 driver are in a comparable class. These drivers were designed to improve their game. An alternative club to the M2 Driver, which is the Mizuno ST180 drivers, can be found here.

Generated for mid-to-high handicappers, it won’t be surprising if the G400 Max finds its way into the bags of some better players who feel the need for speed or feel they are leaving a few yards on the tee box.

It is a wonderful combination to have forgiveness and distance.

On-Course Performance

Speed Ball Speed Launch Angle Spin Carry (Yds). Total (Yds).

This review is about the PING G400 Max Max. It’s my favorite section. I’ll start by saying that this is flat out the most forgiving driver I have ever hit. You lose very little yardage if you miss off the central face. However, it doesn’t matter if you hit the wrong side or the right. My biggest miss was a block-fade right, which usually locates the fairway adjacent. With the G400 Max that block-fade to the right turns into a straight block, which my ball found often a position that was playable.

G400 Max should for most people be the more powerful, faster-launching and spinner option from the G400 series. With that, you can definitely optimize the performance of this driver by finding the right shaft for it. The G400 Max was paired with a low/mid spin shaft to limit my high-ball hitting. Although I was expecting to lose some distance for the G400 Max’s forgiveness, I found that I gained quite a bit more consistent carry yardage. This translated to more distance and, most importantly, fairways from forgiveness. Think about that.

Ping Ping G400 drivers review Ping Ping driver review Ping Ping driver review Ping Ping driver review Ping Ping driver Ping’s G400 was first seen out on Tour last year during the U.S. Open. It went right into the bags of many Ping pros including Louis Oosthuizen, Bubba Watson and Lee Westwood.

I found it very easy to get behind this driver in my initial encounter with the G400.

After just hitting a handful of shots, the amazing level of forgiveness offered and the modestly increased speed were enough to make me happy to pack it in my bag. With the G400 Max, it is the same.

This is simply the G400 with forgiveness and MOI steroids. The G400 had a whopping combined MOI of just over 9,000 gram cm2, but the Max has raised this into the stratosphere, reaching a combined MOI of over 9,900 cm2. What this means for golfers everywhere, myself included, is forgiveness like you’ve never seen before.

Increased head size of 445cc has been made to 460cc. To increase forgiveness. Combines with Dragonfly crown tech and the thin, forged face to ensure maximum weight savings.

The high-density tungsten weight back has been moved to the outer edge of the sole. This will help to drive the CG as low as possible and as far back as is practical for maximum forgiveness as well as a great launch.

G400 Max doesn’t just offer more forgiveness. To increase the ball speed on the whole face, precision is achieved through the unique forging process and heat-treatment process.

Ping G400Max Driver Review

The past year has been one of constant positives for PING, and for lack of a more professional way of putting it, they got their groove back, especially when it comes to drivers. G400 (LST, SFT), the initial G400 released presented a united front, combining a high-MOI driver with tech, looks and performance. It made a lot of noise. The announcement that G400 would be adding a driver to its market caused some confusion, positive and negative.

The G400 Max: How do they compare? Can it improve on the PING lineup? THP was anxious to address both these questions once the G400 Max had been received for review.

Technical Information from PING on the G400 Max Driver:

Larger profile – Dragonfly Technology uses the 460cc crown to position the CG lower for maximum MOI. Enjoy a pleasant address view with the textured crown, infinity edge, and beautiful texture.

Satisfying Sound – Research and computer simulation coupled with music theory inspired PING engineers to patent a rib architecture that fine-tuned the frequencies to produce a deeper, more muted sound while also enhancing feel.

MOI to the Max: Keeping the forge’s face slim creates more weight. It allows for substantial tungsten and higher-density weight back weight to reach a combined MOI greater than 9,900. This results in the lowest possible dispersion and best putter performance.

Forged to Flex – The thin T9S+ forged face flexes more to ramp up ball speed for generating consistently long, straight drives. To increase friction and reduce spin, the face can be textured. Additionally, a new pattern of faces forms an encapsulated look when the ball is in contact with it.
