The United States Postal Service doesn’t accept Apple Pay nor any other form of NFC payment online. Instead, the USPS restricts customers to using traditional methods of payment like cash and credit card. Current card readers support NFC but USPS still keeps this technology disabled.
Why isn’t USPS accepting Apple Pay?
Although the USPS has not made any official statements about why Apple Pay isn’t accepted, there are theories among Redditors.
USPS does have access to millions of peoples’ sensitive information, plus as a federal service, the organization’s list of regulations would be quite stringent.
It could be the reason why post offices do not accept Near-Field Communication (NFC), such as Apple Pay.
This was also confirmed by the fact that, despite their being fully equipped for Apple Pay/NFC, my local credit card machine processed only basic debit card transactions at a remarkably slow pace.

Does USPS Take Samsung Pay?
Strangely, while Apple Pay may not be accepted in certain locations, other post offices accept Samsung Pay as well.
Customers have also reported seeing more current kiosks at their post offices. Samsung Pay customers who have one of these cards linked to their accounts and allowed to use it have seen their numbers increase.
While it appears that the vast majority of post offices do not offer contactless pay, some do.
However, these locations do not accept Apple Pay as yet. Samsung Phone users will be able to use Samsung Pay instead.

One commenter also encountered resistance from another when they tried contactless payments. A manager said that the policy was not to take any other payment methods than those offered by smartphones.

PayPal allows you to pay the USPS
USPS and PayPal made it clear that they would enable customers to shop online via PayPal in June 2012.
This payment option is only available online via USPS’s Click N-Ship service.
It is an extremely popular benefit, with some customers choosing to use this method instead of using their card directly. PayPal, like Apple Pay, adds an additional layer of security to transaction.
Additionally, using PayPal to check out bypasses inputting an entire card’s-worth of financial information into the USPS website.
This was a convenient mash-up for consumers, as many e-commerce store owners already use PayPal to accept payment for their goods and services.
