    Performance

It’s obvious that I won’t be able to review a draw-biased driver. I was a former hooker. That said, I’m usually able to make some adjustments and get them to work well enough. TaylorMade SIM Max D drivers were not able to do that.

For some reason I was unable to resist the SIM MAXD like any other driver. While the SIM MAX was my friend, the SIM MAX DI and I were not friends. I did not know the location of the SIM MAX D’s face during the swing or where the ball was at the club. TaylorMade claims that the SIM MAX D driver is the best at launching shots. I hit only a few good shots.

This is why it was so difficult. Most obvious is center of gravity. The club is extremely draw-biased. This may work for some, but not for me. The look was also not my cup of tea. For me, the small size is fine. However, I find a more pleasing look with a smaller nose. The larger face was also a surprise to me. SIM MAX D comes with a face 18% wider than SIM. This was the face I thought would be my favorite, but I wasn’t.

Taylormade’S Sim Max D Is A Slice Busting Draw Biased Driver With Weight Moved Towards The Heel And A Larger Face Profile

The TaylorMade SIM Max D driver, TaylorMade SIM Max D, is compared to the other drivers of 2020. TaylorMade’s SIM Max D driver was one the three new TaylorMade drivers. This driver uses geometry and aerodynamics for greater downswing speed.

TaylorMade released its first D Type driver, a draw-bias D type driver. This was in the second generation M2; thanks to the success it had at keeping club golfers on track, it is continuing into the SIM Max D family.

TaylorMade has a progressive face size tech that makes TaylorMade D-Types 18% larger in face than SIMs, but it isn’t closed by address thanks to some smart top edge graphics. To make it easier to move mass from the tip of an inertia generator into a heel pad and create a draw bias, the weights at the bottom (at the tip) have been cut by half.

TaylorMade claims that SIM Max D’s are engineered to avoid the wrong side. They have a strategically placed heel-bias inner weight and divergent Topline Masking. This helps the driver look open at address, helping the golfers close their face when impact. Drawing-biased SIMs have the fastest launch rates and offer the biggest, most accommodating face.

    Taylormade Sim Driver Verdict

The SIM was the model I had in mind before I began this review. But, dare i say, the SIM did exactly what it promised. Sometimes the spin was too slow for me to swing at a lower speed.

The SIM Max was the only thing that really amazed me. I never caught one. My distance didn’t drop because I did not get a spinning shot above 3000 rpm.

The middle driver in this range performed as expected. I didn’t expect it to do so without the need to adjust settings for lower spin. The Inertia Generator at the back certainly added to the flight of the ball without effecting spin.

Due to the position of the Inertia Generator and its shape, swing speeds were not increased. I still haven’t been convinced by the 20 degree angle that the Inertia Generator is placed. It may have been proven at TaylorMade or in the “in-the slot” club, but it’s not a universally accepted method of swinging the clubs. I won’t be able to say if we all get the same benefits.

    Who’s the Best?

A TaylorMade SIM2MAXD driver will give you a driver that is extremely responsive, agile, and has an excellent draw bias You have to be able to pay for it. As I said, the cost of a driver is $530. This includes taxes, shipping/fees and tax. If you are OK with spending that kind of money on a single club, then more power to you. This driver will keep current with technology for at least 5-10 year, so it’s not necessary to replace the car every ten years.

The SIM2 Max is the best option if you do not want draw bias. If you want a low launching, low spinning driver (ideally for faster swing speeds), then stick with the SIM2 (standard).

If you really want this driver, but don’t want to spend your hard earned moolah, then carry on to the bottom section of this review for a better priced alternative that will perform practically the same.

Comparison to other TaylorMade SIM2 Drivers. There are three SIM2 models. One is the SIM2 Max, which allows you to hit faster and has a higher spin speed. Two is the SIM2 Max. Three is the SIM2 MAX. D. This model offers a forgiving, high-launching head and a draw bias.
