Similar to real corporate offices, the main office controls all locks, music and temperature for each store.

Superstore: A parody of Walmart
Superstore can be described as a parody on the Walmart experience if Oxford Languages is taken at its word.
Superstore is likely to be outdone by the Walmart real Walmart in the exaggeration department.

Sometimes the real world is just as amazing as fiction.
Walmart Superstore: Was the Writer of Superstore a Walmart Employee?
It doesn’t seem that Walmart writers and producers were actually employed by them, but they did work with OUR Walmart.
OUR Walmart now known as United4Respect is a non-profit labor advocacy group that promotes equality and fairness for workers at companies such as Walmart and Amazon.
Composed of both former and current employees, it’s no wonder OUR Walmart/United4Respect was able to help the creators at Superstore portray ultra-realistic scenarios.

According to Showbiz Cheatsheet, the actors were even mistaken for employees and got asked many times where certain items were.
Producing the second season had been a success. Filming took place at Universal Studios, California. It was on a three-story soundstage.
Walmart Supercenter occupies an average of 182,000 feet. The set design was obviously not that huge.
So to create the impression of such a massive building, the crew sets up in about 22,000 square feet with mirrors. It makes the store seem longer.
Items like the checkout registers and scanners are actually real, repurposed from old Ralph’s and Fresh & Easy stores.
Superstore: Are the Products Real?

Superstore signed clearance deals with these brands (e.g. Keurig) enabling them to list their names on the screen.
Quora members speculate that Superstore paid brands to be placed in the products.
Cloud 9 has a great selection of store-brand items that make the set feel even more personal.
Cloud 9 is a familiar, if not frighteningly familiar, store compared with the Walmart stores our family visits.
You can find out more information about Walmart by checking if Walmart is a part of Wayfair and whether Walmart offers a tax-exempt plan. Also, check if Walmart accepts VSP and EyeMed.
Cloud 9 and its employees on Superstore certainly feel like a direct take on Walmart, but none of the creators have made an official comment stating that this is so.
That’s smart, I think, because Superstore speaks about the common experience of every retail worker, regardless of whether they’re at Walmart, Target, or any other department store.
