Taylormade Rocketballz Tour Driver Review

TaylorMade has been a leader in Drivers on tours and at retail shops. While the R11s family seems to receive most of the TMag driver buzz, we are looking towards the RocketBallz Driver to be the 2012 Dark-horse of the year. We surveyed a few of the 100 best fitters and found that this driver topped late-year polling. These drivers are the best of breed in terms of ball speeds and dispersion. Here is a quote from a well respected member of GolfWRX aka ” Bob57 “Most of the tests I’ve seen list the RBZ as the highest ball speed producing driver today.” Editor Review by: fore_life Pros: Great pop on center strikes while being surprisingly forgiving on miss-hits. It launches high and low with spin. Flight can be controlled with the FCT System.

Cons : The white color, while not visually off putting, may be a bit a problem for someone who wants to keep the driver for a few seasons at least, as it shows every spec of dirt and any little ding that may occur.

Bottom Line: We have lift off. Sean O’Hair got it right. This thing is a Rocket Ballz!

TaylorMade’s newest driver, featuring inverted cone tech to produce maximum ball speeds from every part of the face. Also the Flight Control System (FCT), which fine tunes the flight for your shot shape and ball speed. Before I start, let me say that I favor traditional sounding and shape drivers. My eyes see nothing better than simple black club heads without fancy alignment tools or gimmicks. Nothing sounds more sweeter than the sweet TWACK generated by some of the legendary drivers out there in message boards. A J33r is a legendary driver. The 9015d and Superdeep are all legends.

As soon as I learned that RocketBallz selected me for a review of the RocketBallz driver I immediately thought “I wonder how they will make it black?”. Although I did get a glimpse at some older r11 models, that was all I saw. The color just seemed too boring to me. I felt the 460cc head club head looked larger.

The RBZ provides incredible control at impact and stability through the entire swing. You’ll certainly enjoy how this club responds to striking the golf ball.

The RBZ may be a third more expensive than some of the company’s most costly drivers but it does have some adjustable features such as a loft sleeve which allows you to alter the loft of your clubface for greater control over the angle of launch.

This TaylorMade RBZ driver evaluation will share our findings with you and assist in making a buying decision.

Bottom Line

This concludes our TaylorMade RBZ Driver review. The RBZ Driver is a TaylorMade bestseller and TaylorMade’s top-selling driver.

Amazon.com would be the best site to order the TaylorMade RBZ Driver. You can find the RBZDriver at a nearby golf shop like Golf Galaxy and PGA Superstore. Despite its popularity, the RBZ driver is not available in regular sporting goods shops or at your local course.

Taylormade Rocketballz Tour Driver And Tour Rescue Review

We’ve seen that the RocketBallz fairway woods are ridiculously long but how do the RocketBallz Tour Driver and Rescue compare?

Please share this article with your golf friends:

Social media exploded when TaylorMade revealed that their new line would be called RocketBallz. TaylorMade was a dominant player in golf and there were jokes, humor, pictures, threats, and even predictions about the demise of RocketBallz. TaylorMade gained a lot from this gossip, and the product was a big hit. Although the name might sound silly at first, TaylorMade is very knowledgeable about what they are doing. TaylorMade earned more last year than any other global golf equipment manufacturer combined. TaylorMade is currently holding a 50% share of metal woods’ market, and their fairway products account for 75%. RocketBallz’s fairway wood has been a huge success and there are also hybrids and drivers.

For those who don’t know, this name was developed from Dustin Johnson’s experiences with the prototype. Todd Chew Tour Product Specialist, stated that he had shown the prototype to several players. Dustin Johnson was one of the first ones to use it. As we all know, Dustin is incredibly long but was surprised by the Rescue’s progress. Dustin once said, “It’s just like a rocket.” After initial field testing was completed, Taylormade engineers decided to inscribe the name of RocketBallz onto the prototype’s sole clubhead and into the CAD model. Todd Beach (Senior Director of Product Engineering at Metalwoods) said, “I didn’t think RocketBallz might actually appear on the prototype.” It usually has a MW label on it and a number, regardless of our number. The prototype was returned to me and I was confused. That’s crazy! “There’s no way that we’re going call the product this.” The marketing team decided to keep it. Never has a product name come from the R&D department.

Compare the RocketBallz Rescue and RocketBallz driver to the fairway tree that has a gain of 17 yards. Let’s first look at the driver.

TaylorMade RocketBallz Driver TaylorMade has been the best driver in golf almost a decade. TaylorMade’s latest line of products brings with it new technology, improved designs, and more sales. It was brave decision that TaylorMade made, and one no other company had ever done. Cobra does make a white driver. But it’s limited and it may not be widely known. 20% of golfers switched to white last year. That’s quite a feat considering the lackluster demand for matte finishes. It is the continuation of that white dominance with the TaylorMade RocketBallz Driver 2012. Although it doesn’t come with a speed pocket, the driver has some special features. The driver comes in two models, RocketBallz and RocketBallz Tour. RocketBallz Tour is the model I’m going to be reviewing. They are both tunable for $299 which is an amazing feature. TMAG felt this important, as they are so focused on the golfer fitting correctly for their equipment.

The RBZ driver is not equipped with the R11’s adjustable sole plate or moving weights. However, it has adjustable technology that allows for optimal launch conditions to maximize your swing. This is TaylorMade’s Flight Control Technology (FCT). This feature was unavailable with Burner clubs. FCT (a user-adjustable system) lets golfers choose from eight different settings. Each setting has its own effect on the face, loft and lie angles of the clubhead. TaylorMade states that FCT settings have the ability to alter the ball’s trajectory by up to 60 yards. If you’re a slicer, you can choose a setting that sets the face more to the left for a straighter ball flight. The face should be slightly more open if you are a hit drawer.
