You can now hear all the internet commenters saying, “The TaylorMade 300 mini driver is the way all TM drivers should appear!” The SIM2 drivers have white border, which I like [reviewed HERE], but I prefer the black 300 Mini Driver. TaylorMade also toned down the crown graphics. The club looks great as a driver. It combines the black color scheme with the minimal graphics, and is smaller in size.

Talking about size: This is something that we must discuss. A 300 Mini Driver weighs 307 cc. This makes it approximately 1/3 larger than most modern drivers which measure 460cc. Since most modern fairway drivers are only 200 cm in size, the 300 mini driver is around one-half as big. Due to its large head, I believe the 300 Mini Driver feels closer to a driver that a fairwaywood.

The sole of this 300 blends retro and modern well. While there are hints of earlier TM designs evident in the Speed Pocket, it clearly states that this Speed Pocket was designed in 2020.

Let me also mention the cover for my head. I can’t recall a stock cover that’s been as loudly booed on our social channels, but I have to admit that I like it. This cover is retro and flirts with the “So ugly, it’s awesome” feel. It doesn’t matter where you stand on the fence, but don’t let your head dictate what decision you make.

What Is It About?

It is a trait that I take pride in, and I believe I still have not missed one fairway since 2004. The new TaylorMade Original One Mini Driver was offered to me for review. I had a moment of doubt if Golfalot misunderstood Sophie.

I thought this might work for me, considering my new way of thinking about driver off the board. Perhaps I could increase my fairway accuracy into the 90s.

This club commemorates the company’s 40th anniversary. The 1979 Pittsburgh Persimmon was the first known metalwood.

TaylorMade’s Mini Driver suggests TaylorMade believes amateur golfers can learn from top tour players like Ariya Jutanugarn and Henrik Stenson, who have been a very exclusive fairway-wood user from the tee. Their first entry into the Mini Driver Market since 2015’s Aeroburner. You can review our review by clicking here. I know I am in the minority in terms of having a trustworthy, loving, and committed relationship to my driver. Most of the golfers that contact me with questions or for lessons want tips on how to drive the ball. The Range is a popular location for my masterclass ‘Taming Your Driver.’

My favorite sayings are “if only I could throw my ball 220yds down the fairway, I’d be satisfied” and “I would trade accuracy for length”.

This club is for those golfers who lack confidence or are unable to handle the large stick.

The Verdict

Alex’s reviews are all over the place, but this was the one that he enjoyed the most. He took the club to Mannings Heath Golf and Wine Estate and had a lot of fun.

TaylorMade 300 Series Mini Drivers perform exceptionally well. The nostalgic, retro design is very appealing and will undoubtedly be extremely popular.

The club delivers the results that you want when you pay PS369 for a driver, especially as its versatility allows you to hit the club from off the ground with ease.

It is hard to hit this club offline and it performs arguably better than any club that Alex from GolfMagic has reviewed in the past.

Do You Want To Learn?

PRICE: PS369.00 YEAR: Starting in 2019. The TaylorMade Original One Mini Driver is a surprising release considering TaylorMade’s speed-injected M5/M6 cars earlier this year. Where does the Original One Mini Driver go in the bag …??

The M5 and M6 drivers have impressed everyone in the golf industry this year. While the Original One Mini Driver has a unique twist, we’ve never seen it before.

TaylorMade was 40 years old when the Original One Mini Driver was launched. The design looks similar to TaylorMade’s first driver, the ‘Original One,’ but it has all the benefits of modern technology. While the Mini Driver does not replace your driver, the design is not meant to be as powerful as the M5 and M6. It’s intended to provide you with a club that provides more distance and power from the tee while still giving you the feel of a fairway golf wood. Taylormade has this to say about the 300-Mini Driver

“Power comes in all shapes and sizes. Compact 300 Mini Drivers are built with advanced multi-material materials to provide the ideal combination of low-CG performance as well as high MOI forgiveness. It’s a striking design that is powerful from the tee but easy to play ‘off of-the-deck.

“The unique combination of forgiveness, distance and control that the 307cc Head offers is unparalleled. This revolutionary design breaks all the rules and gives you more forgiveness than your standard fairway-metal counterpart. Twist Face is a well-respected corrective metal that offers an extra level of playability.

“What 300 Mini Driver may lack in stature, it makes up with speed. The combination of a high strength titanium face and Thru Slot Speed Pocket allows for fast ball speeds.

“This TaylorMade steelwood is our first in the 300cc range since 2001. Name and design both pay homage the 300 Series which was the foundation of TaylorMade Golf’s modern age.

Taylormade 300 Mini Driver Design & Features

TaylorMade designed the mini driver, a retro bigstick with a 307.cc clubhead.

The original 300 Series is brought back to life by this modern technology. This new version offers greater control, forgiveness and distance.

TaylorMade’s Twist Face Technology now available in Mini Drivers is also included.

One of the most important design elements is the V Steel Sole. TaylorMade developed a sole plate of 54g that helps reduce the CG. It also increases the MOI. The result is a launch high with minimal spin.

MaineMariner wrote: “Just got back from TaylorMade wood fittings here in Pittsburgh. Because I dislike hitting indoors against a screen, it was more important to me that I get data on the outdoor Trackman setup. However, I wanted to experience the Mini. I really didn’t intend to, but it was worth the $400 extra. Although I will post data in the future, I found that the 300 Mini drove straighter and was much longer than my Epic Flash. Straight smoking it, every time. A mid-handicapper like me was amazed by how accurately I hit the ball. Also, it sounds fantastic, which doesn’t hurt.”

Bladehunter: “This dude is going into my bag. Then hit another 20 before going to children’s b-ball practice. And it’s one of those clubs that just wows me right out of the gate. It’s so good off the deck that I only have hit four balls from a tee. Also, I amn’t hitting off any mats. It’s tight Bermuda. This isn’t a mini driver. It’s a 3 wood.
