ZX5: 9.5@, 10.5@; ZX7: 9.5@, 10.5@ Our take: The ZX packs a two-fisted punch of added distance and forgiveness. One tester chimed in by saying, “The traditional shaping and the red line on the back look great. The ball is very fast. “It’s my best driver.” The ZX5 and ZX7 models give golfers the option of a steeper trajectory or more penetration with the ZX5.

OUR TAKE – The ZX Drivers ZX5 & ZX7 pack some punch when it is about added distance and forgiveness. A tester commented, “The classic shaping and red line at the back look fantastic.” It feels great off your face. “It’s the fastest one I’ve ever hit.” The two models give golfers the option of a longer trajectory or one that is more penetrated. READ THE DETAILS. A Rebound Frame, carbon crown, and a rebound frame increase the distance and forgiveness of off-center hits. An adjustable hosel with two back and low weight ports allows golfers to control the CG and face angles for a draw- or fade shot shape. The more triangular ZX5 has a higher MOI and produces a higher ballflight, whereas the rounder ZX7 yields affords more shotmaking playability and produces a more penetrating launch. An adjustable hosel, two front and low-weight ports and an adjustable hosel allow players to adjust the CG and face angles for either a fade or draw shot. The ZX5’s triangular design produces a larger MOI and more flight, while the ZX7 has more shotmaking potential and launches with flatter angles.

Srixon Driver Zx5 Review

Srixon are not often known for their driver. Although they are less well-known than other brands, their clubs remain highly regarded. Srixon does not release new drivers out of necessity. They only release new clubs every two years, which can hardly be said about any other high quality brand in golf.

Srixon’s international presence is far greater than their domestic, though they are increasingly well-known throughout the US. Srixon’s popularity is quickly growing around the globe. Therefore, I was eager to write my opinion on Srixon ZX5 drivers.

Performance & Appearance Let’s get to the bottom of what the Srixon ZX5 driver is all about. It’s an amazing driver but there’s far too many other drivers that are comparable and less expensive to buy it new.

Srixon ZX5 golf driver is for everybody. The ZX5 driver is better than the ZX7 for 95% of players. This is due to its extra forgiveness and lower center-of gravity.

Srixon ZX5’s traditional 460cc design is what most golfers are used to. The ZX7’s rear is more round, so the ZX5 has a slightly more triangular rear. However, most golfers won’t notice the difference.

A driver focused on forgiveness and distance should expect that the weight is centered rearward on his club head.

Srixon ZX5 drivers are as responsive as any driver when it comes to speed. The driver’s mishits fly straight and far which is an enormous benefit to most golfers who want more fairways.

Overall Impressions

For my game, the Srixon ZX5 driver was far and away the better option of the two new offerings, and that’s saying something. I enjoyed the Z785’s driver profile and expected to be back in the ZX7. It just shows how important it is to try out multiple options before making a decision.

Srixon continues to make great strides in the driver category, and their new line continues that upward trend. This new release will undoubtedly result in a greater Tour and mini-tour presence by Srixon in the driver segment.
