Callaway Xr Driver Review

Although Big Bertha woods’ return has been the focus of Callaway club news, the Callaway X Hot and X2 Hot models offer impressive performance that has proven to be a huge success. The X Hot and X2 Hot driver are great options because they offer both performance and affordability. They have been followed up by the Callaway XR driver for 2015.

Although the X2 Hot driver was a good performer, it didn’t make a significant improvement over its predecessor. Although it had minor improvements, the driver was still a good one. However, those who purchased the original model would not have noticed significant performance gains. Callaway XR is a completely new driver, with a host of technological advances that you can read in our launch story.

Callaway Xr Pro Driver Review

Callaway released their follow-up to the extremely popular X2 Hot Pro driver with the XR Pro model. Let’s see how it compares. I take it for a spin and find out.

According to Physics, velocity divided by time equals distance. Distance is what all golfers desire. We all want it; frankly, we can’t get enough of it. Just telling golfers that they are giving them more distance is no longer the right way to go. We are tired of hearing it. It’s absurd. I could have hit 320 yards last season if that were true. Your lies will be ridiculed.

Callaway created a new strategy telling us our XR Line of drivers is going to make it a success. They don’t simply tell us we are going to get more yardage, they tell us we are going to get more speed. Speed is just a simplified description of the velocity factor in the Physics lesson. The XR driver line is engineered for incredible speeds. I for one appreciate the creativity from their marketing department and after getting to try their XR Pro driver I also appreciate their engineering department as well.

For this review, I was given a 10.5 degree Callaway XR Pro driver with a stiff Project X shaft. Let’s check out the performance.

Technology and Design. We have discussed before that speed is the name of the game in the XR series of drivers. Every aspect of club design was built around speed. A big marketing feature on the XR line was the speed step crown, on the Pro model the step crown is noticeably missing. The speed crown helps to control the airflow over the clubhead and reduces friction. Because the Pro clubhead is smaller, it may have less friction. Callaway states the Pro model’s aerodynamic head maximizes speed.

Is The Callaway Xr Forgiving?

Callaway’s Callaway XR driver, a fantastic offering by Callaway is a good choice for high handicappers who want more forgiveness but do not sacrifice distance.

Are The Callaway Driver Xr Good for Beginners?

Callaway XR drivers are my top pick for beginners. For beginners looking for more forgiveness or a wider sweet spot, the Callaway XR driver is the best choice.

What Year is Callaway Xr’s Driver?

Callaway XR Driver, one of the best drivers of 2015 was a clear choice and a strong recommendation for today’s players. Callaway has proved that light packaging can improve swing speed and ball speeds and that this package can help optimize performance.

Can The Callaway XrSpeed Driver Be Forgiving?

Callaway, the key technology company claims the new XR Speed has the longest and most forgiving XR (non-jailbreak) driver. This is due to a number of new innovations like a Speed Step and a Variable Face Thickness.
