Amazon.com and marketplace sellers can ship selected items to a PO box beginning in 2022. Many products cannot be shipped to post office boxes because they are often using carriers that do not deliver to them. Amazon shoppers can instead use General Delivery addresses or other workarounds to receive Amazon packages.
While it can increase the chance of packages being lost, Amazon customers with PO boxes use general delivery addresses to successfully receive their products.
Just like a PO Box, you can pick up the package at your local post office (remember to bring identification).

This USPS service has been created for people who regularly travel, or don’t have mailing addresses. However, they still need to be able to receive mail.
However, it can be used by anyone to get parcels from a post office and not at home or work.
Additionally, before trying this technique, call your post office and confirm that they accept General Delivery packages.
You might be nervous about this process and send your items to a friend, relative or trusted person with a street address.
You could also rent a box at The UPS Store or another shipping center that accepts Amazon deliveries.

Amazon Prime subscribers who own a Post Office Box may be eligible to receive some benefits of membership, including free shipping.
Amazon Prime is available for most US PO boxes. It can be used to purchase items from Amazon.com or select marketplace sellers.
Amazon Day or delivery-date eligibility is not available for Prime members with PO Boxes. Sometimes you may need to be patient.
A retailer lowers Prime orders to standard shipping instead of same-day, two-day delivery for customers who have such a mailing address.
Does Amazon Ship To PO Boxes In Puerto Rico?
If you reside in Puerto Rico or want to send a gift to someone who lives in this U.S. territory, further restrictions apply.
Amazon serves some but not all PO boxes on the island and the Amazon website will tell you if an address is eligible when you enter it during the checkout process.
Amazon also doesn’t offer expedited or priority delivery for Puerto Rico postal boxes.
You can’t send certain heavy, dangerous or large products into this area. The weight limit for a package sent to any address in Puerto Rico is 70 pounds.

It is still possible to place an order online using either a commercial shipping centre, general delivery address, street address of family members, or another retailer that will deliver any merchandise to a PO address.
