Seattle is known as the birthplaces of Starbucks, Grunge Music and Amazon. The cost of living for residents in Seattle is however 49 percent higher than that of the average American.

Aldi currently has no plans for opening stores in Seattle or Washington State. German supermarket chain Aldi has plans to increase its presence in American Southwest and Gulf Coast. Additionally, it will funnel funds towards store refurbishments in Northeast.
Aldi Comes To Seattle And Washington State Why?
Aldi is currently focusing their building largely in the American Southwest (they just opened their fourth store in Arizona), but especially in the Gulf Coast region and Florida.
Aldi also started construction of a distribution center in Loxley (Alabama) to make it easier for goods to be moved throughout the Gulf Coast. Aldi’s 38th U.S. State, Louisiana, is the reason for this.
It has undergone a number of renovations to its stores, including updating the layouts and interiors.
Aldi’s focus might be on the Gulf Coast rather than Washington. Seattle is the state hub. I think it might have something to do with population density at this point.
These factors would certainly be considered when Aldi expands.

The residents of Washington state are really out of luck when it comes to shopping at Aldi; the closest one is in Clovis, CA and it is about 750 miles away. Ouch.
Washington State Shoppers: What Are The Best Groceries To Buy Instead of Aldi in Washington State?
Washingtonians do have options when it comes to finding similar groceries, regardless of the cost of living here.
For example, distant cousin Trader Joe’s has 18 stores in Washington, ranging from the capital Olympia, to Seattle, to Spokane.
WinCo Foods is another well-known retailer in the state. This warehouse-style, employee-owned store offers low grocery prices.
Grocery Outlet Market offers a great option with close to-expiration food products and discontinued items, at incredibly low prices.
